The provincial election is almost a year-and-a-half away, but there will be a very familiar name on the ballot.

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski will once again be the PC candidate for the region, as he has been acclaimed by the local riding association as their man for the next election.

The Barry’s Bay native was first elected in 2003 and has held the Ottawa Valley seat ever since.

The four-term MPP currently serves as the Chief Opposition Whip, and the Ontario PC Critic for Energy.

The next Ontario election is set for June 7th of 2018.
