He did it!
Valley Heritage Radio Saturday morning DJ Roy Berger set a new Guinness World Record yesterday as he did 101 knuckle push-ups in 60 seconds. He simply shattered the old record of 58.
In fact, he surpassed the old record in a little more than 30 seconds, en route to the new world standard.
The event was carried live on Heritage 98-7, as Morning Man Andrew Cartwright was live on the scene at J.H. Putman School in the west end of Ottawa, where Roy is a teacher. The gym was packed with students cheering Roy on, and he said before the attempt that the students were an inspiration to him.
He also offered some advice to others, when he told Andrew Cartwright that, “It doesn’t matter what goal you set. When things get tough, you persevere, and you’d be surprised what you accomplish.”
Roy also currently owns two other world records, for most push-ups in one hour (3,416) and most push-ups in one minute (138).
This latest record is awaiting final confirmation from Guinness.
