The Pembroke District of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking Renfrew Country residents to keep a close watch on water conditions throughout the Ottawa Valley.

The Ministry has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement regarding water safety as the snow continues to melt and water levels continue to rise.

If you have a history of flooding on your property,  you are asked to take precautions such as making sure your sump pump is working.

And you are also asked to take extra care around fast-moving rivers and streams as flows are high at the moment with more rain in the forecast.

Also make sure children are aware of the dangers and make sure to keep them away from waterways, as well as, road ditches are areas with poor drainage and water levels will continue to rise as the snowpack continues to melt.
