A Flood Warning remains in effect for the area around the Bonnechere River below the Town of Renfrew to the Ottawa River and now a Flood Watch has been issued for Round Lake, Golden Lake and the rest of Renfrew County.

The Pembroke District of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising people that localized flooding may occur along the Bonnechere River below the Town of Renfrew between the Renfrew Power Generation dam at Bridge Street and the Ottawa River.

And with more heavy rain in the immediate forecast, those living in other areas around the County near lakes and rivers should keep an eye on water levels as the potential for flooding exists. The Ministry is closely monitoring the weather and the watershed and we will bring you updates when they are available.

AND still with the weather, the Renfrew Detachment of the OPP is urging drivers to use caution in the coming days with heavy rainfalls expected.

Area waterway levels are high due to the spring runoff and with heavy rain in the forecast, those levels will continue to rise.  Localized flooding of some roadways may occur.  Police ask that you make sure and have an emergency kit in your vehicle and be prepared to find an alternate route in the event a road is impassable.
