Police are again asking people to be extra careful when dealing with unsolicited companies, through e-mail or on the phone.
The latest report includes an old scam where a company sent an e-mail claiming they could remove a computer virus. In this case, the company was given access, money exchanged hands, and the computer no longer works properly.
The OPP say you should be extra cautious, and allowing an unknown person or company access to your computer could mean your user names, passwords, and back account information could fall into the wrong hands.
