Arnprior Fire Department wishes to remind everyone that the prolonged wave of

extreme heat and lack of rain has caused very dry conditions. These dry

conditions increase the potential for fires to start and grow rapidly making it

highly imperative that smoking materials be discarded safely. Discarding

cigarette butts in planter boxes or off the side of your deck can result in a large,

destructive fire not only on your property but on your neighbors’ properties as

Although there is not a burn ban in effect in Arnprior there are strict parameters

that must be met and adhered to under the open air burning By-law No. 3058-78

and an open air burning permit is mandatory. To learn more about obtaining an

open air burning permit please visit www.arnprior.ca/arnprior-fire-department.

Help keep our Town safe by not burning at all at this time and discarding your

smoking materials safely.
