Valley high school champs crowned

In high school sports, champions continue to be crowned across Renfrew County.

In girls’ basketball, the RCI Raiders are senior champs after beating Arnprior 2 games to 1 in the best-of-three series, while ADHS won the junior title with two straight wins against Opeongo.

In boys’ volleyball, the St. Joe’s Jaguars won their second straight junior and senior titles, with the juniors beating Mackenzie for the title and the seniors downing RCI.

In football, the Almonte Thunderbolts won the junior and senior titles on Friday, beating the Arnprior Redmen in both championship games.

The senior ‘Bolts now move on to play Sydenham from Kingston, while the Almonte juniors play in Lasalle. Both games are on Friday.
