The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP will have a new detachment commander soon after the announcement that Inspector Mark Wolfe will be retiring later this month. Wolfe has been the Upper Valley’s top cop for almost three years and has been with the OPP for 30 years. Prior to coming to the area he was detachment commander in Aurora and Bancroft and has also served as an officer in the Beaverton and Kawartha Lakes detachments. With Wolfe’s retirement Staff Sgt. Karl Duewel will assume the role of Detachment Commander at the rank of Acting Inspector while Sgt. Chris Pinkerton will serve as Operations Manager at the rank of Acting Staff Sergeant. A process is currently underway to determine the next Detachment Commander for the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment.
