
6 C turnips, cooked and mashed
2 tbsp. butter (first amount)
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
½ C bread crumbs
2 tbsp. melted butter (second amount)
Combine the turnips, butter (first amount) and eggs and mix well. Combine the brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt & pepper and add to the turnips. Place in a baking dish. Combine the bread crumbs and butter (second amount) and sprinkle over the turnips. Bake at 375°F for about 25 minutes.
