¾ C uncooked macaroni

2 tsp. canola oil

1 lb. beef or pork sausages, cut into 1ʺ pieces

1 medium onion, chopped

1 – 796 ml can stewed tomatoes

2 tbsp. white sugar

1 tbsp. cornstarch

Cook macaroni until tender, drain well and place into a baking dish.  Brown the sausages & onion in the oil and then add to the macaroni.  In a saucepan, bring the tomatoes to a boil and then add the sugar and cornstarch.  Continue to cook for 3 – 4 minutes stirring constantly.  Pour the meat mixture over the macaroni.  Bake for about 35 minutes at 350°F.  Sprinkle cheese over the top for the last 10 minutes.
