It appears the recent fire at an apartment complex on Vimy Boulevard in Renfrew caused more damage than originally thought.
Clean-up crews have discovered the electrical system in the south wing was badly damaged, along with the fire safety systems.
As a result, both have to be replaced before tenants can return home.
Officials say the repairs for the south wing should take about 2 to 3 months.
Those living in the north wing are looking at wait times of around 6 to 8 months.
