Teens charged in Pembroke armed robbery

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged following an armed robbery in Pembroke on Tuesday.

Michael Stein, 18, of no fixed address, and a 15-year-old male were arrested after the Pembroke Variety store on Trafalgar Road was robbed just before 8 p.m.

Two male suspects wearing balaclavas and armed with weapons entered the store and stole merchandise and cash, then fled on foot.

No one was injured.

The OPP Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit were called in, and Stein and the other youth were arrested a short time later and charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and wearing a disguise with intent.

The 15-year-old was also charged with uttering threats.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing in Pembroke Court.
