STUFFING

½ C butter

2 C diced onions

2 C diced celery

2 chopped apples

1 tbsp. sage

1 tbsp. thyme

Salt & pepper

3 C chicken broth

¼ C chopped parsley

16 C stale bread, cubed

Butter

Melt the butter and add the remaining ingredients.  Cook for 5 minutes.  Add the chicken broth & bring to a simmer.  Place the bread in a large bowl and sprinkle with the parsley.  Pour the chicken broth mixture over the bread and toss well.  Place in a buttered casserole and dot with butter.  Bake covered at 375°F for 30 minutes, uncover & bake for another 20 minutes or until golden brown.
