Mother Nature is once again reminding us that winter is upon us.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather advisory for our listening area as well as a winter travel advisory for today into tonight.
Snow and blowing snow will affect the area as we are expecting 10 to 15 cm of snow by tonight. The wind will also be a factor as blowing snow is also possible as winds increase through the day.
The snow will likely change over to rain tonight as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Brief freezing rain is also possible in some areas during the changeover from snow to rain.
All this weather will make for poor winter driving conditions today and tonight across the region.
Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination or consider changing their travel plans.
