Thirteen performers took to the Thomas Cavanagh Stage last night for the first night of preliminaries for the first Valley Search for a Star contest.
The event was broadcast live on Valley Heritage Radio, and close to 100 people made up a very boisterous studio audience on the first night of competition.
At the end of the evening, six contestants punched their ticket to the semi-finals set for October 19th at the Horton Community Centre.
The six artists moving on are: Marc Audet, Sonya Bergin, Darren Caldwell, Julia Dyke, Tanya Emery, and Bailey Rogers.
Kaitlin Black was the night’s “wild card” and still has a shot at making the semis.
Registration remains open for the next two preliminaries – Oct. 1 and Oct. 8.
