The 2016 Valley Heritage Radio week-long Radiothon has wrapped up, and we couldn’t be happier.
Thanks to the generosity of our listeners far and wide, more than $91,000 has been raised so far. With some numbers still to be added, it looks like that number could climb to $95,000.
Things wrapped up Sunday at the Renfrew Armouries with the annual Round-Up Dance, which drew close to 500 people who danced the afternoon away to the music of the Douglas Connection, and Tony True and the Truetones.
And in typical Ottawa Valley fashion, nothing stops a good party. There was a power outage at the Armouries late in the day, so the band simply moved down to the dance floor and held an impromptu acoustic Kitchen Party. No one missed a beat.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s Radiothon, one of our most successful ever.
