The Pembroke & Area Airport wants to re-pave its runway. They recently launched a campaign called “Project Runway” in the hopes of raising 1.25 million dollars to get the job done. Officials say nothing has been done to the strip since 1986.and with almost 5-thousand aircraft movements taking place at the airport every year the runaway has been breaking down slowly ever since. Officials say this is the first time in the airports 49 years of operation that they’re reaching out to the public for help. the way it’ll work is that people can purchase a foot of runway for $250. Multiply that by the length of the runway.which is 5000ft and they’ll have enough to repave the runway – AC
