PECAN COFFEE CAKE

CAKE:

1/3 C butter

¾ C white sugar

2 eggs

1 ½ C flour

½ C rolled oats

2 tsp. baking powder

¾ C milk

¼ C pecan halves


TOPPING:

1/3 C brown sugar

1 tbsp. grated orange peel

2 tbsp. butter


Cake: cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the dry ingredients and add to the butter mixture alternately with the milk. Pour the batter into a greased 9" pan. Arrange the pecan halves over the top of the batter.


Topping: combine the sugar and orange peel. Cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the batter. Bake at 375°F for 25 – 30 minutes.
