UPDATE: Ottawa Police have confirmed they have found the body of a boater who went missing on the Ottawa River near Constance Bay on the weekend.

Stephen Cozzette, 57, was last seen in the early afternoon on Saturday, and his boat was found at 4 o’clock that day, stuck on a shoal on the Quebec side of the river.

The body was found Tuesday night. Foul play is not suspected.

 

The Ottawa Police Service is asking for assistance in locating a 57-year-old Ottawa man who was last seen boating in the Constance Bay area on the Ottawa River around 1 o’clock on Saturday afternoon.

Stephen Cozzette was on his boat – a 35-foot sailboat with three sails and a dull yellow-beige hull with mahogany wood trim – sailing on the Ontario and Quebec sides of the river.

He is described as a white male of Italian descent, 5-foot-7 and 170 pounds. He is bald, with short grey hair on the sides, and a small scar above his right eyebrow.
