Environment Canada says a polar vortex is supposed to hit Ontario over the weekend injecting below-seasonal temperatures into the region.
Across the Valley, it will feel more like early January than early April as the mercury is expected to drop to minus-15 Saturday night, minus-13 on Sunday, and as low as minus-18 on Monday night. Normal night-time temperatures this time of year are minus-5.
The colder-than-normal temperatures could persist beyond the first week of April and there may be a chance of snow. Officials say you may want to put off changing your winter tires for a little while yet. We wish this was an April Fool’s joke, but unfortunately it’s not.
