1 C soft butter

1 C white sugar

1/3 C brown sugar

1 egg, at room temperature

1 tsp. vanilla

¼ tsp. almond extract

3 C flour

1 ½ tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. soda

¼ tsp. nutmeg

1 C chopped peeled peaches

Cream the butter and sugar until light & fluffy.  Beat in egg & extracts.  Combine the flour, cinnamon, cream of tartar, soda & nutmeg – whisk together and gradually beat into the creamed mixture.  Fold in the peaches.  Drop dough onto parchment lined cookie sheets.  Bake at 350°F for 14 – 16 minutes.  Cool on pans for 2 minutes and remove to wire racks.
