A Bristol, Quebec man has been appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada.
Dr. Keith MacLellan was recognized for his “contributions of advancing rural medicine in Canada as a small-town family physician.”
He was also a driving force behind the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada.
MacLellan had the honour bestowed upon him on December 26th.
According to the Shawville Equity, MacLellan was surprised when he was notified, but pleased the award has put rural medicine in the spotlight, especially in the Pontiac region.
