If you were heading to Ottawa on January 12th and picked up a male hitchhiker on Highway 417 near the Panmure Road Exit, police would like to speak with you.

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is investigating events from that day between 10 and 11 a.m. in both Pembroke and Ottawa involving the theft of a vehicle, the uttering of threats, and the intimidation of justice system officials.

Investigators have some questions for the person, possibly a female who picked up a male hitchhiker and dropped him off at the IKEA Mall near Pinecrest Road in Ottawa.

The man is 5-foot-4, 120 pounds, with short light brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs ball cap and a black hoodie.

If you have information or witnessed this event, you are asked to call Detective Constable Tina Davenport at 613-735-0188.
