Whoever goes around measuring trees in the province has found themselves a biggie!
A photo op of Ontario’s tallest tree took place this morning (May 22) at Gillies Grove in Arnprior, and people are encouraged to come out and see this huge Eastern White Pine any time.
Mother Nature’s Skyscraper measures 154 feet tall, and can be found beside the main trail, along the Ottawa River.
To put in into perspective, this tree is taller than a 13-story condominium.
Gillies Grove is a 56-acre old growth forest that is a natural feature of the Town of Arnprior and adjacent to the Township of McNab-Braeside.
