The Renfrew OPP and the Fire Marshal continue to investigate a fire that destroyed a Cobden home early Tuesday morning. No one was injured in the fire but it’s being treated as suspicious. Whitewater Region firefighters responded to the call around 4:30 in the morning and the Meadow Street home was vacant at the time. Once the fire was put out, the Fire Chief contacted police to begin the investigation. Anyone with information on this fire is asked to call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two McNab-Braeside men have been arrested and are facing charges after an incendiary device was thrown towards an Arnprior home on Saturday evening. Police were called to the home on Claude Street around 7:30 p.m. and officers said no one was injured and there was no damage to the home. But the incident resulted in a small fire. A 33-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with possessing an explosive substance with intent to enable another to deliver. On Tuesday, a 46-year-old man was arrested and charged with placing or throwing an explosive device. He was also hit with three counts of breach of recognizance. Both will be back in court to face all charges.
