The Pembroke Regional Hospital has decided to move its internal laundry service offsite. The change will be happening later this year but there is good news for workers who were worried about losing their jobs. Despite the major change, no one will be laid off. The hospital has been doing laundry in house since 1878. The service grew and grew .as it acquired different contracts from other long-term care facilities and healthcare partners. Over time though  these contracts dried up. And in addition the decision to change was also based on the cost of replacing aging equipment and the price of handling it internally, as opposed to farming it out. 0P-R-H will be taking the next few months to see who offers them the best laundry service prices.

Police are looking for a man who attempted to steal a lawnmower from an Arnprior home early on Friday morning. Around 3 a.m. the male suspect entered a shed on Allan Drive, when he was spotted by a neighbour. Once he realized he’d been seen the man left the mower in the yard and ran away. He is described as a white male around 35 years of age with black hair and a skinny build. If you have any information on this crime you are asked to call the OPP.
