The town of Renfrew Please is advising of the following roads changes to Highway 60, Bridge Street will reopen to traffic on Friday, June 29th, 2018 and Raglan Street North will reopen to traffic on Friday, June 29th, 2018. Raglan Street South – Monroe Avenue to Patrick Avenue will only be open to local traffic starting Tuesday June 26 and Tuesday, July 3rd until Friday, July 27 will only be open to local traffic. Traffic and pedestrians access to businesses will remain open. Detours will be in effect via Patrick Avenue and Lochiel Street North/South.

With summer upon us, the Ontario SPCA launched its 2018 No Hot Pets campaign today in partnership with SPCAs and humane societies from across Canada to remind the public about the danger of leaving pets unattended in vehicles. Businesses across the province are also getting on board with the No Hot Pets campaign and are welcoming animals into their place of business while pet owners shop. The Ottawa Valley As won their second straight Greater Ottawa Fastball League game on Thursday night with a 11-1 win over an understaffed Micksburg Twins team. Ben Broek had the win for Valley. Brennan Hennessy took the loss with relief from 15 year old Joseph Mick.
Trevor Harris tossed for 345 yards and two touchdowns as the Ottawa Redblacks beat the Saskatchewan Roughridgers. Ottawa outscored their opponents 26-3 down the stretch to win their home opener.
And The Ottawa Senators will open their pre-season schedule by taking part in Kraft Hockeyville for the second consecutive season, when they meet the Toronto Maple Leafs in Lucan, Ont., on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Local fans will get their first chance to watch their team at home when the Senators host the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. For the first time since the 1998-99 pre-season, the Senators will face-off against Chicago when the team welcomes the Blackhawks to Canadian Tire Centre on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. The Senators pre-season schedule will then see the team visit Montreal on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. and Chicago on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 8:30 p.m. EDT before they complete the pre-season schedule with a 7 p.m. home game on Saturday, Sept. 29 against the Canadiens.
