The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority hit a milestone recently in their ongoing efforts to protect the environment. On June 26th the organization celebrated the planting of their six millionth tree as it was among the more than 275,000 seedlings planted this spring across the watershed. To celebrate the achievement, a ceremonial tree dedication was held at the Authority’s Perth Wildlife Reserve. The group wants to thank the many community-minded partners who have helped raise more than $5.7-million to support tree planting initiatives since 1983 … including Carleton Refrigeration … the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority … and the Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation.
