The identities of the plane crash victims in Maine have been released – 3 people died Monday in a plane crash when the aircraft whcih took off from Pembroke…destined for P.E.I… went down in Maine…killing 3 members of a family from Niagara-on-the-Lake.  The Greenville Police Department said Tuesday that 58-year-old pilot Joseph Robertson, his 58-year-old wife Anita and their 24-year-old daughter Laura died at the scene. Officials with the Pembroke airport said the plane took off around 9am on Monday…and they found out about the crash at around 11:30am – the plane was not scheduled to stop in Maine – because the crash occurred stateside, the FAA is investigating.

Two women are facing a slew of charges after getting pulled over by the OPP in Pembroke on Sunday night. According to reports the vehicle had been stolen from the Hamilton area and police pulled the two over after they received a driving complaint regarding the car. 39 year old Stephanie Burgess, of Pembroke, was charged with possession of cocaine and fentanyl, possession of property obtained by crime over and under $5,000, and failure to comply with probation. 36-year-old Kerrie Lynn Buker, of no fixed address, was charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, obstruction of a peace officer, failure to comply with probation and possession of property obtained by crime. They’ll be appearing by video in Pembroke courtroom on Friday.

Renfrew OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 in McNab Braeside on Friday July 27th shortly before 7 pm after a male driver was speeding, doing more than 50 km above the posted speed limit of 90 km/hr.  The 17-year-old driver from Admaston Bromley was charged with stunt driving. He was issued a summons to appear in traffic court in Renfrew on August 17th and his licence was suspended at the scene for 7 days.  The vehicle he was driving was impounded for 7 days as well.

Arnprior and Renfrew officers investigated 23 domestic disputes during the past two weeks. Two males were charged with criminal harassment … one male was charged with 2 counts of uttering threats … and one female was charged with mischief, resisting police, assaulting police, 3 counts of failing to comply with a recognizance and 2 counts of failing to comply with a sentence. In Ottawa Valley Fastball – two games on the roster for tonight….. the Micksburg Twins take on  I4C Victory at  8:00 PM – and it’s the Ottawa Valley A’s vs. the Stittsville 56ers – that game gets going in Stittsville at 9:00 PM.

Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson is in Lancashire, England for the Women’s British Open – it’s gets underway tomorrow and wraps up on Sunday.  Henderson was named the Canadian Press female athlete of the year for 2015 and 2017. The 20-year-old Smiths Falls native will tee off tomorrow at 2:47 am – Eastern Standard time.
