Thanks to an outpouring of support, Almonte Celtfest will be back for a 19th year.
Last week the organizing committee notified the public that unless someone stepped up to take the reins as festival chair, they would be forced to pull the plug on the event.
At a meeting on Monday night Jim Morrison was named as the new Festival Chair and the committee decided to proceed with Celtfest again this summer.
Morrison previously chaired the Brockville Celtic Festival for many years.
Almonte’s David Baril is the festival’s new Artistic Committee Chair, and two other volunteers have stepped up to handle website duties. All are areas identified as being crucial to the continuation of the festival.
Celtfest is set for July 10, 11 and 12 in Almonte.
