Shawville native and Ottawa Senators General Manager Bryan Murray has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
He made his health situation public Thursday night in an interview on TSN, where he told reporter Michael Farber that “there is no cure at this point” for him.
He said he will continue chemotherapy treatments, saying he is a fighter.
Murray was diagnosed on June 23rd with colon cancer, which had spread to his liver and lungs. Doctors believe Murray had be living with the disease for years, as it went undetected.
Murray is encouraging others to have a colonoscopy and find any potential problems early.
Born and raised in Shawville, Murray has been the Sens GM since 2007.
