Muffins that taste like Donuts

3 C flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

1 C white sugar

2/3 C butter

2 eggs

1 C milk


1 1/2 C white sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 C butter, melted

Into a medium bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg together. Cream the butter and sugar together.  Beat in the eggs and mix well. Add the dry ingredients and the milk alternately to the butter mixture.

Pour batter into greased muffin cups filling to about 2/3 full.  Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350° F until lightly golden.


In a medium bowl, place the melted butter. In another bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Dip the warm muffins into the butter, making sure to completely cover and then dip in the cinnamon sugar.
