The Quebec government is planning to fix the Felix-Gabriel Marchand covered bridge near Fort Coulonge, which has been closed for safety reasons since May of 2014.

The bridge, which spans more than 150 metres across the Coulonge River, will get much needed work after Quebec’s transport ministry recently announced it will develop a plan for rehabilitating the popular tourist attraction.

No cost estimate for the work has been released.

Built in 1898, it is the longest covered road bridge in Quebec.
