Man hurt in home invasion near Arnprior

Police are looking for the public’s help in finding the people responsible for a home invasion on Upper Dwyer Hill Road near Arnprior that resulted in man in his 60s being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Just before 8 p.m. on January 5th two men knocked on the door of a home near Upper Dwyer Hill and Ritchie Side Road, and when the man answered, he was knocked to the ground, held down, and repeatedly assaulted about the head and face.

The two people then stole a number of items from the house, including keepsakes from the man’s deceased wife.

The male suspects were dressed in black, were between 20 and 35 years of age, and were both between 5-foot-8 and 5-10.

Investigators do not believe this to have been a random event.
