Dooley facing first-degree murder charges

A man with ties to the Ottawa Valley is facing first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a woman in a Gatineau Hotel.

Blake Dooley, age 53, was in court yesterday and will remain in custody until his next court appearance March 14th. He is accused of killing 25-year-old Christine MacNeil on October 19th, 2015.

Dooley who has a lengthy criminal record currently lives in Ottawa, but has lived in the Valley including Arnprior. He has previous convictions of assault and aggravated assaulted from incidents in Eganville, as well as, impaired driving charges.

Dooley has also served jail and prison time and was hit with a lifetime weapons ban. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Gatineau police at 819-243-4636, ext. 1.
