Man critically hurt in snowmobile crash

A snowmobile collision has left a man in critical condition and a female with serious injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday on a trail near Goshen Road in the Township of McNab-Braeside.

According to police, a group of four snowmobiles were travelling together at the time. The male was taken to hospital where he was then airlifted to a second hospital with critical injuries. The female was also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A second male was treated for minor injuries.

Police have not ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor in the collision.

And there was another incident Sunday afternoon, as a snowmobiler broke through the ice into the Ottawa River near Bayview Drive in Constance Bay. The driver was able to get himself out of the water on his own.
