The majority of motor vehicle collisions are not accidents, and they are completely preventable, according to the Renfrew OPP.

Police are asking motorists to drive defensively, and adjust to weather conditions, as well as the actions of other motorists.

Slowing down if the road is icy or slushy, increasing the distance between you and the vehicle in front of your to give yourself more time to stop, watching for wildlife near the roadway, and not using your phone while in the driver’s seat, all greatly increase your chance of preventing collisions.

By focusing 100% of your attention on driving, you should arrive safely every time.
