Lock it or lose it. This is the advice from the OPP after two unlocked vehicles were targeted in Pembroke in the past week and thieves made off with a GPS unit, sunglasses and cash.
Police are reminding people that with warmer weather around the corner would-be thieves will be looking for opportunities, so make sure when you park your vehicle you roll up the windows, lock it and pocket the keys, park in a well-lit area if possible and never leave any valuables in plain view.
And thieves don’t just wait for spring to arrive, in fact a 27-year-old man was arrested by police just before midnight on St. Patrick’s Day after it was reported he was stealing from parked vehicles in Renfrew. He now faces charges of theft under $5,000 and will be back in Renfrew Court April 20th.
