IRISH RAISIN – CHERRY CAKE

¾ C butter

1 ½ C white sugar

3 eggs

1 C milk

3 C flour

1 ½ tsp. baking powder

1 ¾ C raisins

1 C chopped walnuts

1 bottle (375 ml) maraschino cherries, chopped

2 tbsp. cherry juice

1 tsp. vanilla

Cream the butter and sugar together.  Add eggs and mix well.  Combine the dry ingredients and add to the butter mixture alternately with the milk.  Fold in the raisins, walnuts, cherries, cherry juice and vanilla.  Spread the batter in a greased Bundt pan and bake at 300°F for about 2 hours.
