1 C white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

½ C hot milk

1 tbsp. butter

1 C flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp. salt

Beat together the sugar, eggs and vanilla.  Melt the butter in the hot milk and add to the batter.  Combine the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.  Spread the batter in an 8ʺ pan and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.


3 tbsp. brown sugar

2 tbsp. milk

3 tbsp. butter

½ C coconut

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, milk and butter.  Bring to a boil and boil for one minute.  Remove from the heat and add the coconut.  Spread on the cake and broil until golden brown.
