½ lb. semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
½ C hot water
¼ C corn syrup
¼ C white sugar
2 tbsp. soft butter
8 C half & half
Whipped cream (for garnish)
Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set aside. In a heavy saucepan over a medium heat, combine the hot water, corn syrup and sugar. Bring just to a boil. Remove from heat and immediately pour over the chocolate. Whisk until chocolate is melted and then whisk in butter.
Place chocolate mixture and half & half in a heavy saucepan over a medium heat, whisking constantly, until very hot, but not boiling. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream.
