On Friday Ontario’s annual Sunshine List was released, and more than 111,000 public sector workers across the province are on the books as having earned more than $100,000 in 2014.
The list includes nurses, teachers, police and firefighters, as well as civil servants.
In the Ottawa Valley, Renfrew Victoria Hospital CEO Randy Penney earned $270,000 last year to lead the local earners’ list. Arnprior Regional Health CEO Eric Hanna brought home $187,000.
Still in the health field, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Maureen Carew earned $239,000.
In local government, County of Renfrew CAO Jim Hutton was paid $202,000, and on the education side of things, Renfrew County District School Board Director of Education Roger Clarke earned $182,000 and was one of 71 board employees on the list. Michele Arbour from the Catholic Board brought home $175,000.
And the top earner last year in Ontario? Tom Mitchell, the CEO of Ontario Power Generation, who was paid $1.55 million.
