1 ½ C raisins

2 tsp. baking soda

1 C boiling water

1 egg

1 C white sugar

2 tbsp. butter

2 C flour

1 C chopped walnuts

Combine the raisins, baking soda & boiling water and set aside to cool.  Cream the sugar, egg and butter and stir in the raisins.  Fold in the flour and walnuts.  Spread the batter in a greased 9X5X3″ pan and bake at 350°F for about 45 minutes.
