With fall upon us, it will soon be hunting season in the Ottawa Valley, and Crime Stoppers and the Ministry of Natural Resources are asking for the public’s help in reporting any illegal hunting activity.
Officials are reminding hunters to follow the rules and regulations, and that includes unloading and encasing any firearms in your possession from a half hour after sunset to a half hour before sunrise. It’s also illegal to have a loaded firearm in – or on – a vehicle. And you can’t legally fire a gun from a vehicle. That includes ATVs.
For more information pick up a copy of MNR’s Hunting Regulations.
If you do see someone hunting illegally, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers or the OPP.
