GRANDMA’S BOILED RAISIN CAKE

1 C brown sugar

1 C water

1 C raisins

2 tbsp. butter

2 tsp cinnamon

1 ½ C flour

½ tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp soda

Combine the brown sugar, water, raisins, butter & cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook over a low heat for 5 minutes. Let mixture cool to lukewarm.

Combine flour, salt, baking powder & soda and add to the raisin mixture and mix well.

Spread in a greased 8” pan and bake at 350°F for about 25 – 30 minutes.
