It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news that long-time VHR DJ and personality Dai Bassett is leaving the station to pursue other interests.
Dai made the announcement Monday at 8:40 on the Morning Show with Andrew Cartwright that after close to 8 years, he has decided to move in a new direction with his career. Dai was the first DJ hired at the station when it opened in 2007.
He will be missed by his friends and family here at VHR and by many of our listeners in the Ottawa Valley, the Pontiac, and those listening around the globe via the Internet.
Dai has touched many people’s lives while on the air, through his music, in his duties as an entertainer and as an MC, as well as through his fundraising efforts.
There is only one Dai Bassett, and we will miss his dedication, his charm, his wit, his humour, and devotion to the Ottawa Valley.
Dai is sticking around the Valley and we will welcome him back as a fill-in DJ when he’s available.
Good luck, and Godspeed, Dai Bassett!
