GINGERBREAD CAKE

½ C butter

½ C white sugar

1 egg

2 C flour

1 ½ tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ginger

1 C molasses

1 C hot water

Cream the butter, sugar and egg.  Combine the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture.  Stir in the molasses and add the hot water last.  Spread the batter in a greased 13 X 9” pan and bake at 350°F for about 35 minutes.
