2 lbs. spareribs, sliced into individual ribs


1 C brown sugar

½ C water

1 tsp. soya sauce

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tsp. ginger

Place spareribs in a pot of cold water.  Bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes.  Drain, then arrange in a single layer in a baking dish.  Combine sauce ingredients in a small bowl.  Pour over ribs.  Bake, uncovered, at 350°F for 1 – 1.5 hours, spooning sauce over ribs every 20 minutes.
