FRENCH HAMBURG STEW

1 ½ lbs. ground beef

½ C chopped onion

2 C celery, cut in strips

4 medium carrots, cut in strips

4 medium potatoes, quartered

2 tbsp. butter

1 C ketchup

1 C water

Salt & pepper to taste

Brown the ground beef and onion in butter in a large pot. Add the other ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour or until the vegetables are tender. Add a little water if the stew becomes too thick.
