Downtown Arnprior is going to get a facelift, as town council has voted to approve a 10-year plan that will see $10.5 million pumped into revitalizing the downtown core.
The decade-long project will include the rehabilitation of roads, sewers, watermains, sidewalks, streetlights, and streetscapes.
Construction work is set to begin in 2016, with the target for completion set for the end of 2017.
Mayor David Reid said the town is doing its part to invest in the core of the community, beautifying the downtown and making it a “vibrant destination for residents, tourists, businesses and investors.”
The mayor noted this is the largest non-grant dependent project funded by the Town in its history.
